Types of ceramic substrate
Common ceramic substrates are made of alumina or aluminum nitride materials.
▼ Alumina Ceramic Substrate
Alumina ceramic substrate is the most commonly used substrate material in the electronics industry, because of its mechanical, thermal and electrical properties compared with most other oxide ceramics, has higher strength and chemical stability, and rich raw materials suitable for a variety of technical manufacturing and different shapes.

▼ Aluminum Nitride(AlN) Ceramic Substrate
Aluminum nitride has two very important properties worth noting: one is its high thermal conductivity, and the other is its coefficient of expansion that matches silicon. The only drawback is that even a very thin oxide layer on the surface can affect thermal conductivity. Only strict control of the material and process can produce a good consistency of AIN substrate.

Why ceramic substrate
Ceramic substrate refers to copper foil directly bonded to alumina (Al2O3) or aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrate surface (single or double sided) at high temperature on a special process plate. The ultrathin composite substrate has excellent electrical insulation performance, high thermal conductivity, excellent soft brazing and high adhesion strength, and can be etched into a variety of graphics like PCB board, with great current-carrying capacity. Therefore, ceramic substrate has become the basic material of high power electronic circuit structure technology and interconnection technology.
